The Audio Portal DnB section is shit. A large, smelly, pile of shit with a few gems hidden in it. But mostly shit.

I request that it be obliterated, then restarted with a MUCH higher standard.

You don't know how many songs I've just had to vote 2 or lower on, and how many reviews I've left explaining that "this song isn't drum & bass" and how to make real drum & bass.

Honestly, this does bother me that much. Poor nubs like I used to be are gonna go to the audio portal and try to learn dnb there, and get sucked into whatever shit they got goin' on over there... honestly, I think the drum & bass section now is like one of the worst parts of the audio portal. It's in horrible shape.

Rawr.

UPDATE: I'm even more pissed because whenever I try to point people in the direction of real DnB, they respond like "actually this is D&B" (when it's not) or "I don't see why I should do this or this." People here have no fucking idea what real DnB is.

UPDATE AGAIN. I just went through the whole DnB Top 50 5ing and 0ing songs to make sure GOOD ONES are on top... they should make me a mod for the DnB section :D I'd delete everything and tell good artists to upload stuff. I'd delete everything I came across that wasn't DnB.

UPDATE AGAIN. I'm re-reading this and i sound pretty harsh lol.

Well, as you may have noticed, I'm not submitting to Newgrounds anymore. I still hang around to check how the DnB here is going, but the way I see it, it's slowly falling. There isn't much real DnB being submitted anymore - guys like API (Geier), Karbon, Koriigahn (Para) have all pretty much left. Why nobody else can make real DnB, I don't know. The only good Drum n Bass artists left here, in my opinion, are Stan-SB, Waterflame and Quarl.

I'm just saying, I think people ought to get into DnB more, and not that ParagonX9 style crap that's currently being made. We need some more guys like Geier.

So anyway, MAYBE I'll submit a short clip of something, but I'm not sure. Aside from all the non-real-DnB that's being submitted, there's still a crapload of zero-bombers. And that's just uncool.

Yeah ok. I'm back to making audio. But I'm still adding finishing touches to Battlefield.

In other news, I got Auto-Tune as a VST so I can add epic vocals to songs now. I used it in a new trance song I made, which will be submitted later. I've also finished a new Drum & Bass song, but I need to fix it a bit. I think it has my best drums yet. I used some new techniques this time, and made the snare in it from scratch. It's pretty cool. I'll submit that when it's finalized too.

Wow, it's actually a non-audio-related post!

I'm working on a new platform shooter, called "Battlefield." It's meant to be downloaded, because it dynamically loads all its maps/images/sounds from a data folder to make the game's size smaller, and make it more user-customizable. I made an easy level editor for it, with which you can create your own maps and weapons.

I'm gonna try to make a Newgrounds-playable demo version of it and submit it. I guess I'll just put all the map files on my site and have the game load them from there.

In the meantime, enjoy this screenshot!
