Nice piano

I have to give it to nubbinownz, that piano melody is amazing. Simply amazing. I would've liked more difference from the original than just a guitar and bass added... even the drums are the same... and I guess it's a good song, I'm just not a big fan of glitchy drums... and they were a bit slow, too. However, I'll stop talking about what I like and while this isn't my favorite, it's still a very good song. I just would have liked to see more done with it :|

Scribbler responds:

The idea wasn't to change the song but instead add to it. In any case, thanks for the review and keep listening!

holy shit man...

This is a HUGE leap in talent... seriously, I'd never have expected this from you before... but I'll keep my eyes peeled for new tracks from you. The pads in the back were fantastic, they really gave ita nice feel, and your reeses were great. I loved the filtering on the drums at arouns 3 minutes. How did you figure out how to make reeces and do all this that quickly?! It took me SEVERAL tries to be able to make a good reese, and I don't think I can manipulate it as well as you did in this song. Thank you for inspiring me to get off my lazy ass and work on some reeses lol.

But seriously, this sounds pro. If you don't mind, I'm downloading this and throwing it into some of my mixes. (I recently got a DJ mixer yay)

You should send this to a label, or make more like it and send them to labels. You'd get signed in an instant.

to the moron below me...

how is that review helpful at all? it doesnt talk about the actual song at all. who gives a crap if he's off by one second about the length. who cares if it doesnt loop perfectly. it's still a good song (loop).

I like the full version too, nice work man.

umen responds:

I guess they dont need to like it :). Thanks.

Hmm...

It's sort of like... a lot being thrown out at once. It's a bit hard to make out each instrument (besides drums of course) The drums should be louder, and try to make each synth more distinguishable. (ooh, big words!)

DJSubstanc3 responds:

Respectively, the outcome of the production of each sound are widely distributed on probably a poorly done multiband compression. Given fact that the system which I currently use, is quite limited to having the final effects of this song to be considered more professional. RAM use is very low (since I'm using my roomates comp, kinda crappy for RAM haha) which makes it much harder to get the sound just right. Since this piece was only done on a computer, my hopes and expectancies are in the process of a larger range of synths and sounds, equipment ftw.

So in sum of this quick response, it was the multiband compressors fault :-p

Thank you very much for your review as well :D

p.s. - You like those big words huh? :D

This song...

...kicks so much ass. I'm not going to complain about the DrillNB loop in the beginning, because you used it correctly. When everything exploded at 0:13, I was amazed. The ethnic touch really adds to it, and I'm a huge fan of melodic drum n bass. I'm actually going to download this, and I hardly download music from Newgrounds anymore. Be proud :D

BTW, I heard a melody that was identical to the melody from ParagonX('s No. 5, but it's not a big deal because it fit perfectly with the rest of the song.

NemesisTheory responds:

Haha, yeah. Drumkits those days were hard to come by for some reason, had to use the tools at hand. It worked out okay once things started kicking in though, much like you said. ;D And thanks, I am. <3

And good ear. I Thought No5 was awesome and I love the original track in Super Double Dragon, so I figured I'd put a nudge in there for great justice.

People, please...

...stop using that Drill n' Bass loop FL comes with. It's so annoying to me just to hear that snare now. That loop is way to overused. At least layer it with some other samples. Also, I only heard about one or two fills in the whole song. Add more, so the drums don't get annoying. As far as the rest of the song goes, I guess it's ok, but I agree that it's repetitive, and the beginning bassline should have been used more.

Navarone666 responds:

i didnt just use the loop, i sliced it and changed the pattern around to my liking, but yeah, i did use it i guess. and this was my first song so gimme a break xD... ummm....yeah and i agree with the adding more part, i might redo this song eventually...hmm...thansk for the listen anyways

This isn't DnB, it's definitely hip hop. At least, according to the drums and tempo. But as far as the song goes, It's ok, I guess. Repetitive, definitely. But whatever.

SHADOWFOX2 responds:

Haha wow...hip hop hmm? I'm not seeing anyone rapping to this at all. The tempo's a little fast, and it would be a rather unique track if anyone could put up with its change in rhythm. Defintely repetitive? I don't exactly share your view, but I'll take it into consideration. It's just not the typical DnB you are used to listening to, with the extreme breakbeats and everything. It's more of a smooth, chill, liquid DnB. Thanks for your criticism!

Hmm...

I'm sorry, but it seems either you've just changed your style a lot, or your DnB has gotten worse. The drums sound weak compared to everything else. And there's A LOT going on. Not that it's bad, but I'm just saying. It sounds very busy, ALMOST to the point where it's too much. But for 3 hours, it's good :D

Go ahead, criticize me, but it's my opinion.

TheComet responds:

and I respect your opinion, it's honest, relatively blunt, and tells me everything I need to look at and improve next time around :)

I need to stop working with my headphones on as often as I do, they really jack up the basslines and tend to make the drumlines feel harder than they really are, and make sub basslines sound stronger than they are.
Hearing this over speakers confirms what you said, especially the crowded bits

Yes!

Your music is a lot better and more diverse now that you've gotten a new program. I love this song. And you've finally put a sub bass in your songs! It's only natural for DnB to have one.

Great job.
