I think you are still one of my favorite unsigned producers. The bass in this is just ridiculous.

Please finish a tune sometime haha

I was actually really feeling the Senator's flow in this one, was nice to hear his actual voice. Both MCs had good disses and flips and good mic presence but I give it to the Senator.

I decided to finally drop a review on this since I've been listening to it so much. This is dope, your flow fits Rama's beat perfectly and I really dig it. I've actually kept coming back to this tune because it's kind of stuck in my head so good job man. I'll be watching you in the comp, good luck!

Thanks for the words homie; I will not disappoint. And trust me you've seen nothing yet, I've already got a lot of surprises up my sleeve for this.

Awesome. Proper oldschool vibes in this one, and I think it can stand alone too, it doesn't need any vocals. Not to say that a verse wouldn't sound sick on this, because it would, but this is also one of those beats I can listen to on its own. Nice job man.

Wow

I feel pretty honored to have you guys on my beat.

Both MCs went hard, I agree with the previous reviews that the first verses were pretty even. Then, like MadFLeX said, Gasmasq was just a little more on point with the attacks in his second verse than Byron. And throughout the whole thing, I was feeling Gasmasq's flow a little more, Byron's seemed a little bit rushed at times.

My vote goes to Gasmasq by a hair. Good battle guys.

Oh lol

When I just left the review on the WIP I totally didn't realize you finished it. I agree with everyone else that the tempos of your samples are clashing. This beat definitely has the right vibe, but the tempo discrepancy kinda messes up the groove and makes it sound awkward. In fact, I think that's my only concern with this. Otherwise I'm pretty sure this would be a dope beat.

Yeah..I haven't been posting anything new, not until I can get everything right. I sent the samples to Team-Dix, and we're trying to get a remix project for it underway, so maybe you'll hear this vibe over a beat that it actually works with. Thanks for the tips though dude!

Good

I'd actually love to collab this if you're still up for it. It sounds really nice so far. Also I find that with hip hop basses, I usually use oneshot samples rather than synths. Occasionally I'll use a simple sine/triangle sub but if I have to add bass myself I usually head for my samples. If I were you I'd just scour the internet for samples of basses; bass guitars, upright basses, 808 basses, basically anything you can find haha.

You're definitely getting better man, keep up the good work!

JackRocker responds:

Thanks man. I've already read your review on the completed version, but I'll send you a PM about collabing on this anyway. Team-Dix might be working on a remix of it, and if you wanna give it a go, let's see what happens!

Fat Beats

Wow, after hearing Fat Beats' last battle, I'm really impressed with this. His vocals were mixed way better than in the last one and the flow was there, it's pretty unusual but really conversational and I like it. Plus his second verse killed it.

I wasn't to keen on Rampant's voice; the flow was great but the voice put me off, it sounded too unnatural and gimmicky to me. I'm sure if it was different I'd appreciate his words a lot more though.

My vote goes to Fat Beats.

Hmm

I like the beginning... first thing I noticed though is that you should cut the little click off of the end of that xKore snare lol :D
The piano sounds cool and the reggae vibe it gives is pretty nice. I can get into it.
The intro is actually really good, but I found the drop rather anticlimactic; it lacked any impact and kind of just happened. The bass pattern itself was not bad and had some good edits, but with the feel you were going for, the bass sounds could have been heavier. Try a little more distortion or something to get some more texture to make your basses more interesting.
The part that started at 1:24 was a nice section, I liked the introduction of the lead and I was feeling the vibes. The lead kind of overpowers everything else though.

Overall it's not bad, but the drop is definitely lacking in power and interesting-ness.

And also, "if you hate it GTFO" is never a good thing to say to your audience.

The GTFO is for the zero bombers lol

Byron

This is the best winter battle so far - I really enjoyed listening to this tune. I like both Byron's and Matatat's flow, and I could understand both of them really well. I agree that Byron's second verse was not as clean as his first, but I liked the increase in intensity. Byron's lyrics were a little more clever too, so I say Byron. It was close though, both MC are pretty nice.

Also they got a great beat for this one, I can get into it haha

I make drum & bass which I upload on www.soundcloud.com/1 shibumi. I don't submit (often) to NG anymore, but feel free to use whatever I have posted here. But you should know that I've gotten a lot better!
